Spring . 2010 . Bring it on

Each season, Vivix looks forward to the changes in weather. This March is no exception as spring will soon be here (3.20).  But until then, we're stoked on the longer days and more sunshine when Day Light Saving (not Savings) Time hits us this Sunday, 3.14. Remember to turn your clocks forward Saturday night. As for spring – we’ll catch your act in T - 10 days.

11.20.2009 - Friday - 7 am

Hey kids -  Been awhile since we updated our news section.  Its not for lack of info, just lack of time.  Seems that we have been putting more and more of the 14hr days.  Doesnt seems to be backing down either.  Can't complain, actully super excited with the long days.  Anyway, wanted to say hello to ya'll.  Just got back in from Mass / NH / Maine / Vermont / NYC.  Sick trip.  Lots of new info coming in the next couple weeks.  Stay tuned.

01.06.10 - This just in - The Beast is Missing

We have been met this New Year with some very saddening news. Over the New Year’s holiday, our own Mister Beast was visiting family in Cave City, Kentucky where it appears he got lost in the midst of a brutal snow storm. Every attempt has been made to locate Mister Beast, and the search will continue. Since the storm has eased up, air support will be able to make a more thorough search for our caveman. But with the heavy amount of snowfall, conditions are challenging from all angles for rescue teams. Everyone here at Vivix continues to hope for the best and will remain vigilant to his safe homecoming. At the same time, we will not mince words when we say what we feel necessary, no matter how challenging – the outlook for Mister Beast’s future is looking progressively bleak. Please note the below picture sent from Mister Beast’s Blackberry hours before his disappearance. Here’s to hoping our caveman will allow his natural instincts to prevail, and will return to us soon. We will keep you updated to any further news, and please join us in keeping your thoughts positive and wish for his safe return.

Comb the beach, searching the shoreline for trash which threatens to be swept out to sea by the incoming tide. Key targets are the SMALL pieces of trash (plastic wrappers, bottle caps, cigarette butts, etc) and other tiny pieces that marine and land animals may mistake for food and ingest. In an attempt to conserve resources and reduce the use of plastics PLEASE bring gardening or work gloves and your own reusable bag or bucket. This also helps limit what ends up at the garbage dump. However, should you not have such items, latex gloves and plastic bags will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothes and dress in layers. Wear closed toed shoes and bring Suntan Lotion. Stay hydrated and bring a reusable water bottle as there's a water fountain nearby. (There are also restroom facilities at Moonlight). Hand sanitizer will be provided. Turn it into a day at the beach. Pack along your beach gear and after the clean up, stay and enjoy a beautiful day on a clean beach! Bring your camera, snap some pictures of your findings and post them on the Meet Up website! PLEASE bring as many friends as you like, the more the merrier!   All volunteers are welcome to participate and must sign a liability waiver, but volunteers under 18 MUST have a parent or guardian sign the waiver before the minor can participate. (Please note the NEW waiver as of August 2009) Bringing together concerned individuals to help clean up the beach.
