Looking Forward to a New Year and Remember Past Ones
As we approach the start of a fresh year, we’re looking forward to the re-start button that happens at the end of every December.
To us, 2025 is full of prosperity, hope, encouragement and excitement!
While we take the time to decompress in the last few days of December, we’ve been recalling past New Years and adventures that make us want to recreate them.
Take New Years Eve, 1991. We spent our night at the ice skating rink in Blue Jay, California. Growing up in the mountain community of Lake Arrowhead, we had the most memorable place to hone our craft of ice skating.
You see, the Blue Jay Ice Castle was an indoor/outdoor ice rink with a roof, half walls that opened to the mountain side. Yes, you read that right, there were no “walls” - no walls, no windows, just the mountains. It was cold; it was foggy; there was snow, hail, sleet and rain; there were the soft calls of the blue jays, the pine trees whispering the words of the wind; and there was us.
Even though we’re ringing in 2025 a little different than 1992 (although we’re still regulars at our local ice rink!), we’re still doing things together, as a family. Thank you for being a part of our family and ringing in 2025 with us!
